A public piano has been introduced in a shopping centre in Longford Town aimed at bringing people together through music.
The "Piano for the People" has been unveiled ahead of International Piano Day tomorrow.
""Public pianos breathe life into cities all around the world, from Boston to Berlin, Barcelona to Brisbane. And now, why not Longford, Ireland" said Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council, Turlough McGovern.
"We look forward to seeing players and listeners gather, to share songs, stories and time together," he added.
The piano was sourced, refurbished and funded through Longford County Council Arts Service.

Local artist Phil Atkinson designed a specially commissioned mural for the piano.
"Getting a piano into a public place like Longford Town Shopping Centre has been a labour of love. We encourage all ebony and ivory tinklers, bringers of nocturnes, ragtime, jazz, trad and 'come-all-ye's’ to join in the fun," said Arts Officer Fergus Kennedy.
The piano is located on the ground floor in Longford Shopping Centre.
Public pianos are already a feature in many places around the country.
Heuston, Pearse and Connolly train stations in Dublin all have pianos for the public to play.
Iarnród Éireann has also installed pianos at Kent Station in Cork and at Plunkett station in Waterford.
