Large fire in Wexford brought under control

Emergency services are at the scene of a large fire that broke out in New Ross, Co Wexford.

Paul L'Estrange, Chief Fire Officer for Wexford, has said that the fire is under control.

The blaze broke out Culcita - a garden furniture and outdoor products store.

A number of units of the fire service responded to the blaze at the unit on the R723 road, close to the Tesco roundabout.

A garda spokesperson said there were no reports of injuries.

A spokesperson for Wexford County Council is advising people to avoid the vicinity.

Those living nearby should, as a precautionary measure, keep windows and doors closed until the smoke and fumes disperse.
