Gardaí have opened an investigation after the discovery of skeletal remains in Dublin.

They were discovered at the N2 interchange in Finglas at around 3pm on Monday afternoon.

Gardaí have sealed off the area to allow for a technical examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been requested to attend the scene.

Gardaí in Finglas say the outcome of the examinations will determine the course of their investigation.
