Man charged in Tralee after aggravated burglary

A man in his 20s has been charged in connection with an aggravated burglary overnight in Tralee, Co Kerry.

Gardaí say the man who was arrested this morning has been charged and is due to appear before Killarney District Court tomorrow morning.

The incident happened when a man, who was armed with knives, entered a property on Chapel Street at around 1.45am and threatened the occupants of the house.

A number of items were taken and damage was caused before the man fled the scene, but he was found a short distance away.

Gardaí have recovered a number of items that were taken during the burglary and no injuries were reported.
