A man in his 60s died in an incident involving an electric scooter last night in Co Carlow.
It is understood the man was travelling on the e-scooter along the Burrin Manor cycleway near Tullow Road in Carlow town at about 9.40pm when he hit a bollard and fell.
Emergency services were called to the area but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny last night and a post-mortem is due to take place.
Gardaí confirmed that a file has been prepared for the local coroner in relation to the fatality.
