The family of a pregnant Co Armagh woman stabbed to death in her home have appealed to her killer to accept responsibility for what he has done.

Natalie McNally was found dead in her home in Silverwood Green, Lurgan on Monday night.

It is believed the 32-year-old was attacked the night before. She was 15 weeks' pregnant.

This afternoon, a brother and uncle spoke to the media during a news conference at which a £20,000 reward was offered.

Niall McNally said his sister had been the best person he had ever met and said the entire family was devastated that they have been robbed of the opportunity to meet her unborn child.

He said his sister's killer had denied her "the opportunity to be a mother" and that his parents and two other brothers could not believe she would not be joining them at the Christmas table.

Mr McNally said: "I am Niall, the youngest of Natalie's three brothers, and I would like to appeal to my sister’s killer to do the decent thing and confess to her murder."

Natalie's uncle John McStravick said: "Natalie was a gorgeous, kind generous girl who went the extra mile for her friends and family, but also for her pets or any animals.

"She has come from one of the kindest, most generous, most loving, most caring families that I have ever had the privilege to meet."

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said he believed a man seen carrying a rucksack near the murdered woman's home at 8.52pm on Sunday night and seen leaving around 9.30pm was the killer.

He had been wearing distinctive white trainers. Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team have released CCTV footage of the suspect.

DCI Caldwell said: "Today, we are releasing CCTV footage, which shows a man, carrying a rucksack, arriving at Silverwood Green on Sunday night at 8.52pm.

"Then, at 9.30pm, we see him walking out of Silverwood Green. He appears to be wearing white footwear, possibly trainers.

"My thoughts remain firmly with Natalie's devoted parents and family, who have suffered terribly. And my appeal is to anyone with information to please come forward."

The £20,000 reward has been offered by independent charity Crimestoppers for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Ms McNally's murder.

A 32-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of the murder has since been released to allow for further investigations, the PSNI said.

"This fatal attack, which happened in her own home, has therefore resulted in a double tragedy: the death of a mother to be, along with her unborn baby," DCI Caldwell said.

"Her death has left family and friends devastated, and the local community in shock.

"What should have been a happy time in the run-up to Christmas has changed to unimaginable grief and heartache."
