Five arrested after serious assault in Co Kildare

Five people have been arrested after a man in his 20s was seriously injured in an assault in Co Kildare.

The man was assaulted at a residence in the Father Murphy Park area of Robertstown at around 2.30am yesterday.

Three men, aged in their 20s, 30s and 50s, and two women, aged in their 20s and 40s, are being detained at various garda stations in Kildare.

The injured man is receiving treatment at Tallaght University Hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.
