A 41-year-old man has died in a road crash in Co Laois.
It happened at around 1am on the L1640, between Ballacolla and Rathdowney, around 30km southwest of Portlaoise.
It is understood only one vehicle was involved in the crash.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Road users who were travelling on the Rathdowney Road (L1640) between 12.30am and 1.30am and who may have camera or dash-cam footage are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
