Eight searches have been carried out in Sligo today as part of an operation by gardaí and the Criminal Assets Bureau.
€85,000 has been restrained in financial accounts, documentation in relation to financial accounts, business activity and the ownership of assets have been seized, along with electronic storage devices, and a small quantity of cannabis.
CAB officers, along with local gardaí in the Sligo/Leitrim Division, assisted by the Garda Dog Unit and the Revenue Custom Dog Unit, searched: five residential properties, one yard and shed, and two professional premises.
No arrests were made.
Gardaí say the investigation is focused on the assets and activities of people believed to be benefiting from, and laundering the proceeds of criminal conduct.
