A man in his 30s has died following a road traffic collision in County Mayo this evening.
Two cars collided on the N60 at Breaffy in Castlebar around 5.40pm.
A passenger from one of the vehicles, a man aged in his 30s, died.
His body was removed to the local mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Three men and a woman were taken to Mayo General Hospital, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Gardaí say the road will remain closed overnight and forensic collision investigators will conduct a technical examination of the scene tomorrow morning.
Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling on the N60 Castlebar to Claremorris Road at the time.
