One dead and four injured in two car collision in Mayo

A man in his 30s has died following a road traffic collision in County Mayo this evening.

Two cars collided on the N60 at Breaffy in Castlebar around 5.40pm.

A passenger from one of the vehicles, a man aged in his 30s, died.

His body was removed to the local mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Three men and a woman were taken to Mayo General Hospital, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling on the N60 Castlebar to Claremorris Road at the time.
