Gusts of up to 110km/h are likely in counties Galway and Mayo overnight as Met Éireann issues a Status Yellow wind warning.
South to southwest winds, veering west to southwest, are forecast to reach speeds of between 45km/h and 65km/h, with gusts of between 90km/h to 110km/h possible.
The winds will be strongest in the west.
The warning came into effect at 4pm this afternoon and lasts until 8am tomorrow.

From late this afternoon (Thursday) and overnight, south to southwest winds, veering west to southwest, will occasionally reach mean speeds of 45 to 65 Km/hr with gusts of 90 to 110 km/hr, strongest in the west.
