Two National Ambulance Service vehicles were involved in crashes in Co Cork over the weekend.
The HSE confirmed that no patients were on board either of the ambulances and no crew members were injured. No other vehicles were involved.
The vehicles will be assessed for damage and will be replaced by reserve vehicles.
In a statement, the HSE said the NAS fleet has more than 600 vehicles, which clock up more than 2 million kilometres a month.
"Traffic incidents will occur from time to time when such a large fleet is involved, especially when driving conditions become hazardous. For this reason, NAS staff receive sector standard driving and emergency driving training," it said.
