An appeal by Ian Bailey against a drug driving conviction and driving disqualification has been adjourned until 22 October.

Mr Bailey's full appeal against his conviction was due to be heard before the Cork Circuit Appeals Court in Skibbereen today.

However, an application to adjourn it until later this month to Cork city, was granted by the court.

The court was also told by Counsel for Mr Bailey that his client may be unable to attend on this date and was granted liberty to adjourn further, if and when, that arises.

Last May, Mr Bailey was convicted of drug driving by Judge John King at Bantry District Court.

The charges arose from an incident on 25 August 2019 outside Schull, in west Cork.

He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined a total of €700.
