Woman killed, three injured in Monaghan road crash

A woman in her 50s has died and three other people have been injured in a road crash in Co Monaghan this morning.

The woman was a passenger in a car that crashed on the Roslea Road out of Clones at around 5am.

No other vehicles were involved.

Two men in their 20s and a woman in her 30s were all taken to Cavan General Hospital, where their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

The road is closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly to anyone travelling on the Roslea Road out of Clones and the Largy Townland area between 4am and 5am and who may have camera (dash cam) footage.
