A crew of nine have been rescued by Galway RNLI Lifeboat after their boat ran aground last night in Ballyvaughan Bay in Co Clare.
The 6.5 metre rib had suffered propeller and engine damage with the crew contacting the Irish Coast Guard, who sought the assistance of Galway RNLI lifeboat.
The RNLI launched from Galway Docks at about 10pm.
Conditions were calm and dark when the damaged vessel was located around 20 minutes later.
All nine crew on board were wearing life jackets and did not need any medical assistance.
The damaged boat was towed to Parkmore Pier near Kinvara.
Deputy Launch Authority Seán Óg Leydon said: "The crew of the vessel acted quickly by dropping anchor straight away and contacting the Irish Coast Guard."
