Gardaí in Tullamore have issued a public appeal for information on the 25th anniversary of the disappearance of Fiona Pender.

Ms Pender was last seen at around 6am on Friday 23 August 1996, when she was at her flat on Church Street in Tullamore.

Her disappearance has been the subject of a sustained garda investigation, by the investigation team based at Tullamore and Portlaoise garda stations.

No one has been brought to justice for the disappearance of Ms Pender at this time, a garda statement said today.

She was described as being 5'5" (1.65m) in height with blonde hair, and was wearing bright-coloured clothing and white leggings.

She was aged 25 and was seven months pregnant at the time she went missing.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone that met, saw or has any information related to Ms Pender's disappearance in the early hours of 23 August 1996, who has not yet come forward, to speak to their investigation team.

"Gardaí continue to appeal to any person who may have previously come forward who felt they could not provide gardaí with all the information they had in relation to this matter, to contact the investigation team again," a statement said.

It added that anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant they believe it to be, should contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
