Six people rescued on Dublin's Sandymount Strand

Six people were rescued after they became stranded on Sandymount Strand in Dublin this afternoon.

The Irish Coastguard confirmed that the group needed assistance after they were cut of by the tide at around 2.15pm.

The RNLI lifeboat and a coastguard unit attended at the scene.

The lifeboat picked of the six individuals and brought them to Irishtown.

No medical assistance was required for the group.
