Former Cork county councillor has been told that he will have wear a mask in court or else produce a medical certificate.
Diarmaid Ó Cadhla appeared before Judge Olann Kelleher at Cork District Court charged in connection with alleged breaches of Covid-19 health regulations on St Patrick'S Bridge earlier this month, on 1 April.
When the case was called for hearing, a member of An Garda Síochána told Judge Kelleher that Mr Ó Cadhla was not wearing a mask.
Judge Kelleher asked Mr Ó Cadhla to put on a mask but Mr Ó Cadhla, replying in Irish, refused.
A mask is required in court under Courts Service Covid-19 protocols unless a medical certificate can be produced.
The Judge adjourned the case until this Friday, 16 April, telling Mr Ó Cadhla, of Upper Beaumont Drive, Ballintemple, Cork, that he has to get a medical certificate.
