A fresh appeal for information about Trevor Deely is being issued ahead of the 20th anniversary of his disappearance.

On Thursday, 7 December, 2000, the 22-year-old bank employee was at his work Christmas party in the Hilton Hotel on Charlemont Place near Portobello in Dublin.

Trevor went on later to a nightclub on Leeson Street with his work colleagues. Just after 3.30am on 8 December, Trevor left the nightclub and started to walk home to Serpentine Avenue in Sandymount.

As it was a very rainy night, he called into his office in Bank of Ireland Asset Management on Wilton Terrace to pick up an umbrella.

CCTV at the bank gate shows Trevor speaking briefly with an unknown man. This man had been standing there for approximately 30 minutes before Trevor's arrival. He has yet to be identified.

Trevor left the bank approximately 30 minutes later and proceeded down Wilton Terrace towards Baggot Street Bridge. En route, he called a good friend at home in Naas, leaving him a voicemail saying that he was on his way home and would chat with him again soon.

This was the last known contact anyone had with the missing man.

The last official sighting of Trevor is CCTV footage recorded at 04.14am as he walks down Haddington Road. And 34 seconds later, a male is seen walking in the same direction.

Gardaí believe this is the same male who was captured on the earlier CCTV at the bank's gate. Gardaí would like to identify this man to see if he can assist with progressing the investigation.

Trevor did not make it home that night and remains missing.

His family will broadcast an appeal for information tonight on Crimecall at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.

Presenter Sharon Ní Bheoláin will speak with Trevor's sister Michele about the impact his disappearance has had on their family and how they will never give up hope on finding out what happened to him.

Gardaí are appealing directly to those who may know what happened that night to come forward.

Anyone with any information about Trevor's disappearance can contact any Garda Station, or to call the confidential line 1800 666 111. They can also contact Crimecall on 1800 40 50 60, Freetext 50123 or email crimecall@garda.ie.
