A sum of cash has been seized in Dublin as part of an investigation into the discovery of cannabis herb and cash in Co Cork earlier this week.
The cash recovered in Dublin, worth €88,000, was found along with a quantity of fireworks when gardaí executed a search warrant at a house in the Tallaght area at around 8.30pm yesterday.
On Tuesday, an estimated €100,000 worth of cannabis herb and around €30,000 in cash were seized during a search of a house and car in Castlemartyr, Co Cork.
Gardaí said they witnessed what is believed to have been a drugs transaction outside the house.
Two men aged in their 30s were arrested at the scene and are being detained at Midleton Garda Station.
Superintendent Michael Comyns said "Whilst gardaí continue to police the Level 5 restrictions regarding Covid-19, it is important to assure the public that gardaí are still active in investigating serious crime".
