An investigation is under way into the circumstances surrounding the death of a person whose body was discovered along the coast in south Dublin.
The body was discovered in undergrowth along the DART line at the back of a retail garage on the Rock Road in Blackrock and may have been there for some time.
The scene has been preserved and the State Pathologist has been called in.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death, which will determine the course of the investigation.
Gardaí say at this stage there are no obvious signs of injury. The scene will also be forensically examined.
The age and identity of the victim has not been established yet and gardaí will examine missing persons records.
