Irish Water and Cork County Council have issued a Boil Water Notice for the area supplied by the Whitegate Regional Public Water Supply.
The notice, which affects a population of nearly 6,500 people, covers the areas of Whitegate, Aghada, Saleen, Cloyne and Ballycotton.
It has been put in place due to an issue with the filtration process resulting from burst pipework on the site of Kilva Water Treatment Plant.
All Whitegate Regional Public Water Supply customers are advised to boil water before use while the issue is being resolved.
