Two children have been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a car near a housing estate in Co Tipperary this afternoon.
The incident happened in the Templetuohy area, north-east of Thurles when the two children were on a bicycle which was in a collision with a car.
Both children are believed to be under 12.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene and treated the children at the roadside, before one was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.
The other was taken by ambulance to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel.
The injuries are not thought to be life-threatening but there was concern that one may have suffered spinal injury which was why they were taken for specialist assessment to Dublin.
Gardaí have sealed off the scene to allow a forensic examination to take place. The road has been closed since the incident.
The collision is being investigated by Gardaí in Thurles.
