Gardaí believe a hit-and-run incident in Dundalk, Co Louth this morning was a deliberate act of endangerment.
They are appealing to the public to come forward if they have information on the incident which happened on Barrack Street shortly before 10am.
A man in his 30s was struck by a silver Ford Focus, registration 99-D-25111, after it mounted the footpath.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where his condition is described as serious.
Detectives are now trying to establish whether the hit-and-run is linked to a local feud in the Dundalk town area.
