The Government has announced a scheme that will provide third-level students with the opportunity to live with Gaeltacht familes for three months.

Minister of State for the Irish Language and the Gaeltacht Seán Kyne said up to 175 students can be accommodated under the €250,000 scheme.

It is targeted at students studying Irish or who require a high level of competency in the language as part of their studies.
