The former Traveller rights activist Nan Joyce has died at the age of 78.
She was born in Tipperary but later moved to Dublin and was a founding member of the Committee for the Rights of Travellers.
The mother of ten went on to contest the November 1982 general election in the Dublin South West constituency, where she won 581 votes.
Pavee Point paid tribute to her "courage, vision and integrity in defending Traveller human rights".
