Ahead of the deadline to register to vote, Prime Time visited the Marina Market in Cork to hear how people are feeling about the upcoming presidential election and whether they’re up to date on the register.
Everyone Prime Time spoke to said they were registered, but levels of interest in the election varied.
Some admitted they are not particularly engaged with the race or don’t feel motivated to cast their ballot. Others said that even if they’re not enthusiastic about the campaign, they see it as important for young people to have their say.
Tuesday 7 October is the final day to register to vote. Check your status or register online at checktheregister.ie.
