Should we be wary of buying gift vouchers this Christmas?
Fran McNulty, Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Correspondent for RTE News joined Claire Byrne Live to explain the new rules that have been introduced around gift vouchers.
There are still some caveats to watch out for if you hold onto a gift card for over a year.
"The inactive balance charge still applies and they can start taking money off the card once you pass 12 months, as One 4 All do."

When it comes to booking flights, it is helpful to know that airlines can't refuse you if the name on the passport is different to name on voucher.
Fran also adds that using one gift card for different transactions must now be allowed under the new regulations.
