Almost 565,000 visitors came to Ireland in April, according to the Central Statistics Office, a 7% increase on the same month of 2025.
The number of nights the visitors spent here rose 14% to more-than 3.9m - meaning the average length of each stay rose slightly, to just under seven nights each.
Meanwhile visitors' combined expenditure - excluding their air fares - rose by 15% to €431.3m in the month.
It means the average visitor in the month each spent €764 during their stay.
People from Britain made up the biggest share of visitors in the month, representing 39% of visits at 218,000. This compares to just over 214,000 visitors from Britain in April 2025.
Visitors from continental Europe made up 36% of tourist trips to Ireland last month, with 41,700 coming from Germany alone.
Meanwhile North America accounted for 21% of visitors, with an increase in the number of visitors from both Canada and the US.
There were around 104,300 visitors coming from the US - up 12% year-on-year. Meanwhile around 14,300 people came from Canada, up 30%.
Overall, just over 40% of overseas visitors said the main purpose of their trip here was holiday, leisure and recreation.
Just over one third said their trip was to visit friends and relatives, while 15% said they were travelling for business reasons.
