AIB's Chief Financial Officer is to leave the bank after almost 13 years of working at the group.

Donal Galvin stepped down from the board with effect from May 26, but will remain at AIB for a handover, including for the announcement of the half year results on July 30.

Galvin joined AIB in 2013 as Group Treasurer and was appointed CFO and member of the Executive Committee in 2019.

AIB's chief executive Colin Hunt said that "Donal has made a significant contribution to the Group during his 13 years with AIB", playing a key role in the return of AIB to full private ownership and the repayment of €21bn
to the Irish State.

"He has greatly advanced the financial resilience and capital strength of
the Group."

Commenting on his departure Galvin said that "the time is right for me personally to pursue other career
opportunities, and I am pleased to leave AIB in such a strong financial position".

A process to appoint a permanent successor will commence immediately, AIB said.
