More than half a million passengers are due to travel through Dublin Airport over the June bank holiday weekend.

According to daa, a total of 503,000 passengers are forecast to fly in and out of the airport between Friday and Monday.

Next week many passengers are expected to travel to North America for the FIFA World Cup starting on June 11.

Marking the start of the busy summer period Dublin Airport's spokesperson Graeme McQueen said that every day from now until the end of August is likely to see the hub handling over 100,000 passengers.

Passengers are reminded that the old 100ml liquids rule is no longer in place and they do not need to take their liquids, gels or electronics out of their hand luggage when going through security screening.

However, other rules may apply at their return airport.

Passengers are advised to get to the airport two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours prior to a long-haul flight.

Shannon Airport is expecting to welcome over 67,000 passenger this bank holiday weekend - an increase of 11% on the same period in 2025.

The airport said it has 40 services in operation this year, including new routes to Rome, Warsaw, Madrid, Poznań and Frankfurt.
