Kingspan said the acquisition of Duggan Profiles will complement its single-skin construction sheeting proposition.

Building materials company Kingspan has announced the purchase of steel manufacturer Duggan Profiles.

The transaction was notified to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission on January 15.

Following the review, the CCPC cleared the proposed acquisition on Monday, confirming that the merger would not substantially lessen competition in any market for goods or services in the State, Kingspan said.

Duggan Profiles & Steel Service Centre Limited was established in 1976 and operates from production sites in Co Kilkenny.

It manufactures steel building components, including single skin construction sheets, purlins and rails, profiled steel sheeting, flashings, and gutters, serving the agricultural and industrial sectors.

Kingspan said the acquisition of Duggan Profiles will "complement Kingspan's single-skin construction sheeting proposition in Ireland".

Shares in Kingspan Group were down 0.3% at 10 am this morning.

The company is headquartered in Kingscourt, Co Cavan, with production and supply operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Kingspan produces products for the construction industry, including insulated building envelope and data centre solutions.

The group employs over 29,000 people across more than 270 production sites in over 80 countries.
