There was a 33% increase in the number of foreign visitors to Ireland in February compared with the same month last year.
New data from the Central Statistics Office show around 404,700 people visited the State last month.
While the figure is up on last year, it represents a fall of 7% on the number of visitors to Ireland in February 2024.
The CSO said foreign visitors stayed a total of 2.4 million nights in the country, which was up by 31% on February 2025, but down 12% on February 2024.
The data shows that visitors from Great Britain accounted for the largest share (43%), followed by Continental Europe (40%), North America (12%), and the Rest of the World (4%).
36% of the visitors indicated that the main purpose of their trip was for visiting family and friends, 35% said it was for a holiday, with 18% citing business reasons.
The CSO said the average length of stay for foreign visitors last month was 5.8 nights, down from 5.9 nights in February 2025.
Expenditure was estimated at €250 million, which is an increase of 28% compared with February 2025 (€196 million), but down 12% on February 2024 (€284 million).
