The State-owned Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland has appointed Colin Moran as its new chief executive.
SBCI said the appointment followed a recruitment process that was open to external and internal candidates and Mr Moran will take up the position immediately.
Mr Moran joined the SBCI in 2022 as its Head of Lending.
He previously spent over 20 years with Bank of Ireland in a range of senior positions across its Corporate Banking, Business Banking and Retail divisions.
He is a member of the Management Board of the European Association of Long-Term Investors, a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland.
Since it was set up in 2014, the SBCI has delivered over €4.7 billion in funding to over 65,000 borrowers.
The SBCI provided €377m in funding to almost 2,700 borrowers last year.
