Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Ireland has announced the appointment of two new members to its Board.
Elizabeth O'Reilly has been appointed Director of WEEE Ireland and Caroline Bergin BA, SOLR has been appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of WEEE Ireland Limited and Chairman-Designate of the Nomination and Governance Committee.
"Elizabeth and Caroline’s appointments significantly strengthen the depth and balance of WEEE Ireland’s Board." said Leo Donovan, CEO, WEEE Ireland.
Ms O’Reilly will lead WEEE Ireland’s involvement on a broad range of Government policy and regulatory consultations, advancing WEEE Ireland’s circular economy future.
She has played a central role in WEEE Ireland’s development since its establishment in 2005.
As Head of Environmental Compliance & Membership, Ms O’Reilly has been instrumental in growing WEEE Ireland’s membership base to approximately 1,400 producers.
Ms O’Reilly represents Irish producers at national and European level, including on the National Waste Advisory Group, and through collaboration with the WEEE Forum, Eucobat, PRONEXA and PV Cycle.
"Elizabeth has been central to the development of Ireland’s EPR framework since its inception and brings exceptional insight into how policy translates into real-world compliance and impact," said Mr Donovan.
Ms Bergin is an accomplished legal and governance executive with over 30 years’ experience across listed and privately held organisations in Ireland, the UK and the United States.
Recognised in The Legal 500 GC Powerlist – Ireland, she holds a Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance from UCD Smurfit School and is widely respected for her strategic insight.
