Inflation estimated to have dipped to 2.4% in February - CSO

Inflation fell slightly to 2.4% in February from 2.5% in January, the latest flash estimate from the CSO shows

Annual consumer price inflation fell slightly to 2.4% in February from 2.5% in January, the latest flash estimate of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices from the Central Statistics Office show today.

Prices rose by 0.7% between January and February, the CSO added.

The CSO said that energy prices are estimated to have grown by 0.4% in the month and increased by 0.1% since February last year.

Food prices are estimated to have risen by 0.1% in the last month and increased by 3.4% in the last 12 months, the CSO added.

The corresponding rate for the euro zone will be published tomorrow.
