Danish retailer Normal continues its expansion in Ireland with the opening of a new store in Dublin's Northside Shopping Centre today.

Normal opened its first Irish store in Dublin's Ilac Centre last November and said today it plans to open a further three to five stores around the country within the next six months.

Spanning 464 square metres, the new Northside Shopping Centre store will employ about 25 full-time staff and 15 part-time workers.

Known for its maze-like layout, Normal stocks 5,500 permanent products and introduces over 100 new items every week.

Its broad offering spans internationally recognised brands such as L'Oréal, Maybelline, Nivea, Gillette, Colgate, Garnier, Nescafé, Oreo, Vanish and Finish, alongside emerging international names and social media favourites.

The Dublin Northside store is part of a wider Irish rollout, with Cork confirmed as the next major opening at Queen's Old Castle in Cork city, and additional locations planned across the country during the year.

Normal CEO Jakob Frølich Maarbjerg said the company had been delighted by the response it had received in Ireland so far.

"Opening this store is an important next step for us, and we're excited to continue expanding across Ireland over the coming months," the CEO said.

"Our ambition is to make shopping fun, surprising and affordable, we want to continue to offer Irish customers great brands at fixed low prices, with something new to discover every week," he added.

Since opening its first store in Denmark in 2013, Normal has expanded to more than 980 stores across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Ireland.
