Corrib Oil has said a new Wendy's fast food restaurant will open at Tullamore Retail Park in Co Offaly in May.
The new midlands location is expected to create 60 jobs.
Ireland's first Wendy's restaurant opened at Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork last October, which also created more than 60 jobs.
"Following the fantastic response to our first Wendy’s restaurant in Cork, we're delighted to confirm Tullamore as the location for our second Irish location," Michael Dalton, Managing Director at Corrib Brands, said.
"Set to open this May, the new restaurant, complete with a drive-thru, will create 60 new local jobs and bring Wendy's signature quality, freshness and hospitality to the heart of the Midlands. This is another important step in our long-term expansion strategy," he added.
Over the coming years, Corrib said it plans to open 10 Wendy’s locations across Ireland, both as standalone restaurants and at select Corrib Oil service stations, creating more than 300 jobs nationwide.
Founded in 1987, Corrib Oil currently operates 41 convenience stores with forecourts and 20 fuel depots across 17 counties.
The business has established partnerships with BWG Foods (operating under its Spar brand), Texaco, Circle K and food chains including Insomnia, Apache Pizza, Subway and Zambrero.
Michael Clarke, Managing Director, Europe, The Wendy’s Company, said the company was proud to see Wendy’s continue its growth in Ireland with the opening of the Tullamore restaurant.
"Corrib Oil has proven to be a strong partner, and we’re excited to bring Wendy's 'globally great, locally loved' experience to more Irish customers when the restaurant opens this spring," he added.
