Financial technology firm Block has announced the opening of new offices in Dublin where 300 employees will be based.
Block is the parent company of Square, the point-of-sale mobile payments platform that allows vendors to accept and process card payments.
The company was co-founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey.
Block's new office at One Park Place in Dublin contains a product demo lab, flexible workspaces and community engagement spaces for hosting workshops and events with local financial institutions and business communities.
"Dublin is the natural home for Block's European growth," said John O'Beirne, CEO of Square International at Block.
"This office represents more than a physical space - it's a statement of our commitment to the region and our belief in the transformative power of financial technology," Mr O'Beirne said.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has welcomed the opening of the new European hub while on a visit to the office.
"Global tech companies like Block are choosing to base themselves in Dublin because of the strategic international advantages that Ireland offers," Mr Martin said.
"It's a testament to our highly skilled workforce, investment in research and development, and our pro-enterprise focus," he added.
Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, has also welcomed Block's expansion.
"This highlights Ireland's reputation as a leading location for financial services companies, offering skilled talent and a thriving innovation ecosystem," Mr Lohan said.
Aside from Square, other Block brands include the digital wallet Cash App, music platform Tidal, and a bitcoin wallet called Bitkey.
