Italy's competition authority said today it had fined Wizz Air Hungary €500,000 for unfair commercial practices after it advertised an "All You Can Fly" annual subscription with limitations.

The Hungarian company failed to disclose "adequate and accurate information" about the offer's restrictions, the watchdog AGCM said in a statement.

The airline's programme allowed passengers to fly at a fixed rate on all the carrier's international routes for €599.

But in promotional campaigns, Wizz Air "presented the service as an unlimited subscription, omitting adequate and accurate information on the restrictions imposed on its use."

In particular, the airline gave "incomplete and ambiguous" information about booking windows for flights, the number and type of seats available and additional restrictions, AGCM said.
