The Criminal Justice Operational Hub budget was initially set at €7.2 million over three years, but actual spending has been significantly lower, with approximately €4.3 million incurred by the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration from 2017 to 2024.

Progress on data harvesting and person searching has been limited due to data quality issues and GDPR concerns. The C&AG report noted that significant challenges remain, particularly regarding data quality and GDPR compliance. The Department is committed to addressing these issues and improving project management processes.
