US company G&F Precision Molding is opening a new engineering and sales facility in Mullingar in Co Westmeath, as it expands into Ireland.

G&F said the new facility will serve as a launch pad for a future production operation that it plans to staff with more than 30 high value roles.

G&F makes advanced manufacturing solutions involving injection molded silicone and thermoplastic parts.

The company said its investment in Ireland supports its mission to align with local MedTech companies, responds directly to customer requests and contributes to the 'thriving' MedTech sector sector.

G&F's expansion to Ireland is supported by IDA Ireland.

The company's move here also marks a new chapter in the country's medical technology manufacturing landscape, as G&F brings Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) molding to the trade sector for the first time.

John Argitis, President of G&F Precision Molding, said establishing a presence in Ireland marks a significant milestone and reflects years of G&F's commitment to building strong partnerships with its customers.

"I am grateful to our customers, my colleagues, and the IDA for their continued commitment to realise this opportunity. It is my intent that this foothold grows to become a significant member of the Irish life science manufacturing community," he added.

Mary Buckley, Executive Director of IDA Ireland, said that G&F Precision Molding's decision to establish in Mullingar underscores the Midlands' growing reputation as a vibrant hub for companies to expand their global offering.

"A key objective of IDA's strategy, Adapt Intelligently, is to maximise regional opportunities and deliver investments to regional locations," she added.

Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Minister Peter Burke also said the G&F investment is a strong vote of confidence in the Midlands and in Ireland's growing reputation as a global hub for MedTech innovation.

"The plans for over 30 high-quality jobs will have a meaningful impact on our local economy and community, and this is very much in line with Government regional development," Mr Burke stated.
