The latest fuel price survey from AA Ireland shows that fuel prices remained steady in September.
AA Ireland said that petrol prices were unchanged at €1.70 a litre, while diesel stood at €1.67 per litre, down a cent from €1.68 in August.
But it cautioned that electric vehicle home charging costs are set for a "turbulent" few months ahead.
While costs currently remain steady for EV drivers, Bord Gáis Energy, Energia, Pinergy and SSE Airtricity customers to see price increases from October onwards
A spokesperson for AA Ireland said that motorists will welcome some stability this September.
"Petrol remains unchanged, while diesel has dipped slightly. At a time when families face back-to-school costs, that predictability is a real help," the spokesperson said.
"EV owners are still enjoying steady home-charging costs for now, but from October many households will see their bills rise as providers increase tariffs," they added.
