Euro zone inflation remained stable in August, revised official data showed today, as a bigger drop in energy costs led to the lower estimate.
Inflation in the single currency area reached 2% in August, the EU's statistics agency said, revising its previous 2.1% figure published on September 2.
The August inflation figure is in line with the European Central Bank's target.
The revision was mainly due to a slightly bigger fall in energy prices, data showed, dropping by 2% in August instead of the earlier estimate of 1.9%.
