The operator of Dublin and Cork airports has said "nothing should be inferred" from reports of a rift between the chief executive and the board of the daa.

It was reported by The Irish Times last night that there are "tensions" between Kenny Jacobs and members of the board of the semi-state company.

According to the article, the "serious rift" centres on business matters relating to infrastructure and litigation over the 32 million passenger cap at Dublin Airport.

A daa spokesperson said it "does not comment on rumour or speculation, and nothing should be inferred from this."

In a statement, the spokesperson said that Kenny Jacobs "is and remains the daa CEO."

"We cannot comment on Board matters, which are confidential," the statement added.

Kenny Jacobs was appointed as chief executive of the daa in November 2022.

Mr Jacobs, who previously worked as chief marketing officer at Ryanair, took up his seven-year term in January 2023.
