Family business Ryans Cleaning took a short break from its cleanup at Electric Picnic to celebrate 40 years in business.
What started out as a small business in Thurles, Co Tipperary has grown to a major event cleaning and waste managemet company, that can be found at venues, festivals and events across Ireland and the UK.
"We decided to celebrate this major milestone for our family business while we're doing what we do best, cleaning up after an outdoor festival and where better to mark it than right here in Stradbally after Electric Picnic, Ireland’s biggest music and arts festival," said Aisling Ryan, CEO of Ryans Cleaning.
This year alone, Ryans Cleaning will manage over 7,000 tonnes of waste while cleaning up after almost 3.5 million patrons, all while maintaining their strict zero waste to landfill policy.
Their full-time staff of 120 is complemented by a seasonal workforce that grows to 1,500 during peak season.
"It feels fitting that as we mark 40 years, we're back at Electric Picnic, one of the highlights of our annual calendar," said Ms Ryan.
"Ryans Cleaning has grown into something we’re all so proud of.
"None of it would be possible without our hardworking teams, both permanent staff and the incredible seasonal crews who work tirelessly day and night to make events like Electric Picnic look their best," she added.
