Sauna operator 'The Hot Box Sauna' has announced plans to open its biggest location to date in the Bolands Mills redevelopment in Dublin’s Docklands.

15 new jobs will be created as part of the €2 million investment, which will feature multiple saunas, plunge pools, and dedicated relaxation zones.

The development will also feature Ireland's first wheelchair-accessible sauna, complete with a custom-designed sauna-friendly wheelchair.

"Bolands Mills is more than just another opening for us, it's a statement about where sauna culture in Ireland is headed," said Dan O’Connor, co-founder and CMO of The Hot Box Sauna.

"The Hot Box Sauna Bolands Mills is a wellness destination that combines centuries-old sauna traditions with a modern Dublin setting," he added.

The Hot Box Sauna will also open a new location in Galway later this year, with plans for international expansion already underway.

Founded by friends Dan O'Connor (CMO), Luke Williams (CFO), and Liam Irwin (COO), The Hot Box Sauna began as a self-built sauna trailer on the banks of the River Boyne in Bective, Co. Meath during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Four years later, the business operates 16 saunas at six locations across the country and employs 60 staff in total.
