Bank of Ireland has appointed June Butler as Head of Corporate and SME Banking.
Ms Butler is currently chief executive of the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI), where she led the organisation in delivering innovative funding solutions to Irish SMEs.
She previously served as Head of SME Banking and Sectors at Bank of Ireland until 2021.
In her new role, June will lead a team of 200 Bank of Ireland workers serving the needs of 3,000 companies across the island of Ireland. She will oversee relationships with private businesses, multinationals and publicly quoted companies, as well as leading the bank's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) team.
John Feeney, CEO of Bank of Ireland's Corporate and Commercial Banking division, said that Ms Butler's deep expertise in SME and corporate banking, combined with a strong track record in strategic delivery and stakeholder engagement, will be invaluable as the bank continues to grow and support its corporate and business customers across all sectors.
"At a time when businesses are facing challenges on multiple fronts, from global market volatility to the accelerating pace of technological change and the growing imperative of sustainability, her leadership will be key to helping our customers navigate complexity, adapt with confidence, and seize new opportunities," Mr Feeney added.
