New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that wholesale electricity prices increased by 4.6% in July when compared with June but were 10.3% lower than July last year.
The CSO noted that wholesale electricity prices have fallen by 74.3% when compared with the peak in August 2022.
Today's figures show that the price index for all energy fuels rose by 5.1% in July from June but was down by 6.9% since last July.
The CSO said that wholesale price inflation showed a decrease in July with a 0.5% decline in the overall Producer Price Index for manufacturing industries in the month.
The overall Producer Price Index is at its lowest value since February 2022, the CSO added.
Producer prices for products sold on the domestic market were 1% higher in July compared to the same month last year.
In the 12 months to July, export producer prices fell by 3.9%, while overall producer prices were down by 3.5%.
