AA Ireland's latest monthly fuel price survey shows a slight softening in petrol costs in July, while diesel prices held steady for the month.
But some electric vehicle (EV) charging on-the-go prices will see an increase from today.
Today's survey reveals that unleaded petrol now averages €1.73 per litre, down from €1.77 in June, while diesel remains flat at €1.69 per litre.
While EV charging at home costs show no change, EV charging with ESB will increase from €0.59kWh to €0.66kWh for their high-powered chargers
A spokesperson for AA Ireland said that July saw a small shift in the right direction for petrol drivers, with prices easing slightly.
"While diesel remains unchanged, the stability may offer some predictability for most motorists as we move through summer when longer drives usually take place," the spokesperson said.
"The recent changes to EV on-the-go charging prices by ESB ecars, while still competitive in market, will add additional costs to the motorist, especially impacting those on staycations that have no alternative option to charge," AA Ireland added.
